My mother bought these for the boys at her house and they are perfect! So I got a set for home. Durable and sharp enough to cut through paper and pipe cleaners (which is all is needed for their age). The tips are rounded for safety and the grips are rubbery to avoid slippage in tiny developing hands. They seriously have helped in developing their fine motor skills. They are also allowed on most domestic and international flights through TSA. I only got one set taken away at security coming from Jordan back to the US. Theyre built to last!

I am a righty and had no idea how hard it was for a lefty to use scissors meant for a righty until I tried to use these lefty scissors in my right hand. The blades are switched, so when I use these in my right hand, the top blade covers the cutting line, making it very difficult for me to cut on the line. That's how the poor lefties feel when they use righty or ambidexterous scissors in their left hands! Trying these in my right hand showed me just how important it is to buy the left tools for my lefty child. He loves these scissors. He can cut so much easier because he can actually see the cutting line when holding these in his left hand, unlike when he tries to use righty scissors or ambidexterous scissors. The ambidexterous scissors do not hurt his hand to use, as they are molded to fit either hand, but the blades are arranged so that they are meant to be held in the right hand and the top blade covers the cutting line when the scissors are used in the left hand. These are true lefty scissors and are both comfortable and functional when used in the left hand. I am buying another pair so he will have one at home when he takes these to kindergarten. If you have a lefty child, please do your child a favor and buy him/her lefty scissors and other tools. It will make life so much easier.
