These are purely for aesthetic suspender wearers. If you want the suspenders to hold up your pants, go with something else. If the suspenders hang loose on your shoulders as a fashion choice, these will do fine.

Sturdy - great grip

Preface this by saying that I have owned a very good set of clip on suspender buttons for better than 25 years. They were purchased from a well known national department store and I have never had a reason to think poorly of them. I use them to this day. I bought a group of 3 sets of similar buttons a few months ago from a different retailer on ZeeBooth, though I suspect these 2 sets recently purchased are from the same manufacturer. I have had serious problems with the set of 3 (different metal finishes) purchased a few months ago (clips coming apart, both the moveable clip portion coming apart from the U shaped piece, and the actual buttons coming off of the U shaped piece.) Despite my better judgement, I thought I could try one more time and see how a different retailer's product held up. I purchased 2 sets in different metal finishes. 10 clips in each order, which would give me at least one extra clip to add to the set previously purchased from which a button had come off. Unfortunately, nearly every single one of the clips allowed too small of a gap at the bottom of the clip to fit over a pair of slacks. Using a small set of pliers, and a flat-head screwdriver, I have bent the openings wider. They now fit comfortably over a pair of chinos, so slacks will not be a problem. Should I have issues with the clips coming apart, I will update and downgrade this review. The pictures above are the antique bronze, and black, buttons showing the minimal original gap, and the gap after I 'adjusted' them.
